Jelena Perić obtained her MSc degree in Molecular Biology and Physiology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. After receiving the Santiago Grisolia PhD fellowship, she moved to Spain to the Investigation Center Principe Felipe, University of Valencia, where she focused on neural differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells. She completed her PhD degree in 2012. Together with her colleagues, she implemented next-generation sequencing for the first time in the country. Currently, she is an assistant research professor in the Molecular Biomedicine Group IMGGE, where she works in the field of genomics.
