Rare RNA variants linked to colon cancer

Comparison of gene activity in colon cancer 3D cell cultures with data available for patient samples pointed to 32 unusual RNA variants that showed the same changes in both cultured cells and tumor tissues. Many of these RNA molecules have characteristics of regulatory molecules, while three of them stood out as potential biomarkers for colon cancer diagnosis.

This publication resulted from the project “SENSOGENE – Cancer Biosensors Based on Gene Regulatory Elements,” led by Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić and funded within the PROMIS program by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia
