Jelena Popovic, PhD, awarded Yamagiwa-Yoshida Study Fellowship
Jelena Popovic, PhD, Research Associate in the Laboratory for Human Molecular Genetics IMGGE was awarded prestigious Yamagiwa-Yoshida Study Fellowship for a study visit to Northwestern University in Chicago. This fellowshop was awarded to dr Popovic for the study entitled "Development and Use of an In Vitro Model for Study of Platinum Induced Neural Damage" that deals with investigation of neurotoxicity and other side effects of platinum in cell culture as therapeutics for cancer. The results of this study will enable to better understand the therapeutical effects of platinum, which greatly affects the extent of therapy and quality of life in cancer patients.
