Danijela Stanisavljevic awarded "IBRO InEurope Short Stay Grant"

Danijela Stanisavljevic, PhD student, Research Associate in the Laboratory for Human Molecular Genetics IMGGE was awarded IBRO InEurope Short Stay Grant for a study visit to the Institute of Radiation Biology, Helmholtz Zentrum in Munich.

The fellowship was awarded for the study entitled "The effect of ionizing radiation on early phases on neural differentiation in vitro" aimed at finding out what cellular processes are the most sensitive to ionizing radiation in the human model system of neural differentiation. This study will help better understanding of radiation as a powerful therapy for treatment of brain malignancies and its influence on the molecular mechanisms involved in neural differentiation of healthy tissue.
