Testing the potential of FlogoSkin to stimulate wound healing

Principle Investigator: Dr Isidora Petrovic, IMGGE

Efficiency of wound healing depends on various factors including adequate response of skin cells and immune system. Products of wounded tissue and bacterial skin commensals together stimulate immune system and induce inflammation. The main risk in open wounds is growth of pathogens and development of persistent infection. Pathogenic bacteria are known to form biofilms that increase their resistance to both antibiotics and immune response.

The aim of this project is to investigate the potential of FlogoSkin in promotion of wound healing by analyzing its effect on stimulation of inflammation in keratinocytes, its antimicrobial potential and stimulation of wound healing in vitro.

Study will give information about efficiency of analyzed product in wound healing process and provide guidance for product improvement.
