Molecular basis of response to chemioradiotherapy in rectal cancer

The main objective of the project is to examine the molecular basis of the response to chemioradioterapy in rectal cancer and it will be realized through the study of specific molecular processes in samples from subjects with defined clinical phenotypes. A biobank formed within the project will be used to identify nucleic acids, protein and metabolic markers, as well as the development of non-invasive methods for their analysis, which could be used in clinical practice for prediction and monitoring of response.
