The First Workshop of the STREAMLINE project
A two-day workshop of the STREAMLINE project entitled "State-of-the-art of stem cells-based research in NDDs" was held on July 8 and 9, 2022 in Belgrade. Participants had the opportunity to listen, discuss and learn about the latest methodological advances used for modeling neurodevelopmental diseases. Also, the participants were able to uncover cutting-edge bioinformatics methods for identifying potential biomarkers and therapeutics to more accurately diagnose and treat neurodevelopmental diseases. In addition, the workshop was an opportunity for the participants to learn about the ethical, legal, and social aspects of this field of research.
The event was of a hybrid type, allowing lecturers from different leading institutes in Europe: Cardiff University, Maastricht University, and Center for Research and Technology Hellas, to present some of their latest results live or via the Zoom platform. One of the sessions was devoted to neurodevelopmental diseases research in the Western Balkan region, whereas this topic was discussed primarily from the aspect of clinical practice in Serbia and neighboring countries.
