The majority of employees at the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering of the University of Belgrade (IMGGE) fully support and stand firmly behind the students' demands in order to preserve democratic values, social responsibility, and the rule of law. We believe that the academic and scientific community is the pillar of progress in any society, inseparable from freedom of speech and thought. We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and intimidation and advocate for the preservation of the independence of institutions that act in the interest of citizens, respect for the law, and ethical and moral standards.

The Scientific Council of IMGGE, at its open extraordinary electronic meeting held on January 22, 2025, approved the request of IMGGE employees to issue an official statement regarding the current situation and support for the students.
