Marija Mitrović has a PhD in Technological Engineering and she is a microbiology specialist with more than ten years of professional experience in ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories. She began her career as an analyst and advanced through roles including Head of the Microbiological Testing Department, Quality Manager, and Deputy Laboratory Director. Her expertise includes laboratory management, quality control, development and implementation of new testing methods, and sampling procedures. She has extensive experience with integrated management systems in line with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.

Since 2023, she has served as a technical assessor for the Accreditation Body of Serbia in the field of microbiological testing and sampling. In 2024, she joined IMGGE where she focuses on quality management systems.

Her research interests include food characterization, quality and safety, and environmental impact assessment in the context of sustainable development. In addition to her research and laboratory work, she has extensive experience in training, consulting, and supporting laboratories and healthcare institutions across the region in developing quality management systems.
