Dušan Milivojević, PhD, is an Associate Research Professor in the Group for Ecobiotechnology and Drug Development, where he conducts experimental research in the field of microbiology. His work includes the analysis of the bioactivity of natural and synthetic antimicrobial compounds, as well as the study of various materials and their applications in biomedicine.

He earned his PhD in 2018 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, where he also completed his undergraduate studies and obtained the title of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. His doctoral research focused on studying the virulence of various Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates obtained from clinical samples of humans and animals.

His research interests include microbial biofilms, bacterial communication mechanisms, host–pathogen interactions, and the application of the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans in ecotoxicology. He is actively involved in the implementation of national and international scientific projects.

Dr. Dušan Milivojević serves as the designated person responsible for the welfare and health of laboratory animals at the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGE), where he has also been appointed a member of the Ethics Committee for the 2025–2027 term.

He is a member of several professional associations, including the Serbian Society for Microbiology, the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS), and the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID).
