Molekularna mikrobiologija, konstrukcija novih vektora za kloniranje kod bakterija mlečne kiseline (BMK), interakcija bakterija-domaćin, autohtone BMK u funkciji zdravlja i prevenciji bolesti, terapeutski potencijal probiotika u neurorazvojnim poremećajima-autizam, regulacija kardiovaskularnih funkcija, tolerancija na stres, tretman dijabetesa tipa 1, 
γ-aminobuternakiselina (GABA) i/ili glutation (GSH) produkujuće BMK, GABA-obogaćeni funkcionalni prehrambeni proizvodi, alternativna administracija GSH/GABA pomoću GSH/GABA produkujućih probiotčkih sojeva.
