Research interest:
The focus of my research is translational regulation of gene expression and understanding how its dysregulation contributes to human pathologies, in particular to cancer and neuronal disorders. My long-standing goal is to employ my knowledge in improving diagnostics and discovering new drug targets. To achieve these goals, am using the patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) generated through the reprogramming of somatic cells, and iPSC-derives. The iPSC-technology enable to overcome practical limitations and ethical considerations related to functional and molecular studies in humans, making possible to have a patient-specific, disease-relevant cell type in a dish.
