OBLAST NAUČNOG INTERESOVANJA

Oblast naučnog istraživanja obuhvata: izolaciju i molekularnu karakterizaciju bakterija mlečne kiseline (BMK) i drugih Gram-pozitivnih i Gram-negativnih mikroorganizama iz različitih ekoloških niša, sekvenciranje i anotaciju genoma bakterija, karakterizaciju probiotičkog potencijala laktobacila, standardizaciju metoda za detekciju i molekularnu tipizaciju Listeria sp. i Salmonella sp kroz lanac ishrane.
Tekući projekti se odnose na karakterizaciju gena i faktora odgovornih za probiotički potencijal laktobacila (egzopolisaharidi, agregacioni faktori, bakteriocini, proteinaze). Osim toga, razvoj novih terapeutskih strategija za lečenje različitih bolesti i dizajniranje formulacija za funkcionalne starter culture za funkcionalnu hranu za ljude i životinje.
