OBLAST NAUČNOG INTERESOVANJA

Ispitivanje negativnih uticaja antibiotika kroz analizu gena za antibiotske rezistencije i druge faktore virulencije prisutnih kod enterokoka izolovanih iz zemljista, vode i hrane.Nekontrolisana upotreba antibiotika u ljudskoj i životinjskoj medicini, dovela je do povećanog širenja otpornih enterokoka u zemljištu, vodi i hrani. S druge strane, bakterije roda Enterococcus deo su prirodne intestinalne mikroflore čoveka i životinja. Naseljavaju različite ekološke niše, kao što su zemljište, vode i površine raznih biljaka. Iako se smatraju korisnim jer učestvuju u fermentaciji hrane kroz sintetizu bakteriocina i formiranja specifičnog ukusa i arome proizvoda, među izolatima ovog roda ima oportunističkih patogena za ljude.
