Ministry of education, science and technological development of the Republic of Serbia supports science promotion and popularization. One of the projects from this area funded by the Ministry is "Little School of DNAlogy", realized by the team of Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering scientists lead by Sonja Pavlovic, PhD. "Little School of DNAlogy" contributes to the promotion and popularization of molecular biology through two types of activities based on hands on experiments: traveling laboratory and workshop.

Within traveling laboratory researchers visit preschools and elementary schools and turn classroom into a laboratory. During one class students perform experiments of microscopy of their own buccal swab cells, as well as DNA extraction. All experiments are safe and based on chemicals in everyday use (liquid soap, pineapple juice, table salt, etc).

Workshop is intended for high school students, university students and elementary and high school biology professors, as well as for general population. Workshop is organized in the IMGGE and also encompasses hands on experiments.

During previous several years the program was very successfull among teachers and students.
